Important Notes

• The age is calculated as of December 31st of the preceding/previous year.
• For the general category, candidates must be at least 21 years old and not more than 30 years old on the cut-off date.
• Candidates eligible for age relaxation can be up to 32 years old on the cut-off date.
• Age relaxation is available for specific categories, including government employees with at least 2 years of  service, candidates from recognized tribes and areas, and others as per FPSC rules.

Age Relaxation Categories

Age relaxation of up to 2 years (making the maximum age 32 years) is available for the following categories:

• Candidates currently serving as government employees with at least 2 years of service.
• Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Buddhist Community.
• Candidates belonging to recognized Tribes from areas such as Baluchistan, Ex-FATA KP, etc.
• Candidates from Gilgit Baltistan or AJK.

1. What is the cut-off date for age calculation?
   The cut-off date is December 31st of the preceding/previous year, e.g. If you intent to take the CSS 2026 examination, the cut off date will be 31st December 2025.
2. How is age calculated for Government Jobs in Pakistan?
   Age is calculated based on your date of birth and the cut-off date. You must be at least 21 years old and not more than 30 years old (or 32 with relaxation) on the date provided by the commission/department.
3. Who is eligible for age relaxation?
