Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) was buried in Najaf, Iraq, approximately 10 kilometers west of Kufa. His burial location remained secret for nearly a century due to fears of desecration by his enemies, particularly the Umayyads. The Abbasid Caliph Harun al-Rashid accidentally discovered the grave in 791 CE while hunting. Today, the Imam Ali Shrine in Najaf is one of Shi’a Islam’s holiest sites, attracting millions of pilgrims annually.
