Based on the famous Hadith, the greatest jihad is the struggle against one’s own self (nafs). This internal jihad involves purifying one’s intentions, resisting temptations, and striving to obey God’s commands in daily life. It is considered the foundation for all other forms of righteous struggle. Without winning this internal battle, other efforts may lack sincerity.
