Hazrat Ali (RA) is titled “Haider” or “Asadullah” meaning “Lion of Allah.” This title was bestowed by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) due to Hazrat Ali’s extraordinary courage, bravery, and valor in battle. His mother, Fatima bint Asad, named him Haider after his father Abu Talib, who had a nickname “Haider” meaning lion. The title reflects his fearless nature in defending Islam against overwhelming odds.
